Headington Games Grab

Completed that puzzle once too often? Fed up with seeing your videos too many times? Then why not bring them along to Headington Community Centre and swap them for something else?

Every Monday from 9am - 12.30pm during the summer holidays (until 1 September, and not Bank Holiday Monday) you can come along and see what's on offer at the Headington Games Grab!

Since the start of the school holidays Headington Community Action Group (CAG) has been running a morning for children up to 11 years of age to swap their toys, books and videos at the Headington Community Centre, Gladstone Road, Headington, Oxford.

Kate Hart, Headington CAG member and one of the organisers, said, "so far we have had mainly preschool children coming along, and they have enjoyed choosing a different book, video, game or toy to take home. It's a lively event and we've got room for more children and things to swap".

While kids are engaged, carers can enjoy a cup of tea at the Glad Café. An added bonus is the Slade and Headington Children's Centre offers activities for children each Monday so they can play for free.

Swap shops

Headington CAG also holds regular swap shops on the third Saturday of every month from 11am to 2pm at the Community Centre. These are a buzz of activity, lots of things being brought in to swap and people looking for items to take home. Everything should be in good condition and offered free. This is a great way to help reduce waste by giving unwanted items for re-use.

The next swap shop will be held on Saturday 16 August.
